چکیده
Improved designs for underwater manipulators are becoming increasingly important due to their utility in academic and industrial applications. In this work, an experiment was conducted conjunction with a numerical simulation investigate the hydrodynamic performance structural reliability of proposed foldable arm during unfolding process at various movement velocities. A large-scale geometric model single degree freedom (DOF) constructed. The distribution flow field, stability equivalent stress were quantitatively analyzed designed tank Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulation. Simulation results show that maximum deviation resistance torque is 8.04% 5.73%, respectively, compared experimental static postures. Comparison prove model. transient demonstrate optimal speed 3 Kn pressure on surface relatively regular. Furthermore, fluid–structure interaction (FSI) validation study presented. For coupling between fluid mechanics domains, nonmatching discretization approach adopted. directional deformation (Z axis) less than 0.50 mm. has large angle rotation high existing manipulators.

Density Current is formed when a fluid with heavier density than the surrounding fluid flows down an inclined bed. These types of flows are common in nature and can be produced by; salinity, temperature inhomogeneities, or suspended particles of silt and clay. Driven by the density difference between inflow and clear water in reservoirs, density current plunges clear water and moves towards a d...
متن کاملOctopus arm kinematic analysis for use in multi-arm underwater robotic swimmers
The extraction of accurate kinematic information of animal appendages is of great importance for many biologically-inspired robotic applications. Octopus arm trajectories during a two-stroke arm-swimming motion have been initially analyzed through a vision-based 3D process, that reconstructs the arm spatial configurations and captures their 3D motion; this work is presented in [Kazakidi et al, ...
متن کاملOn-line Identification of Hydrodynamics in Underwater Vehicles
In this work an algorithm for on-line estimation of the nonlinear hydrodynamics in underwater vehicles is presented. The algorithm is able to estimate physical parameters from natural operation signals. Identifiability and convergence of the parameter trajectories are analyzed. The application of the algorithm to a spherical vehicle is described with numerical simulations. Copyright c ° 2005 IFAC
متن کاملManeuvering hydrodynamics of fish and small underwater vehicles.
The understanding of fish maneuvering and its application to underwater rigid bodies are considered. The goal is to gain insight into stealth. The recent progress made in NUWC is reviewed. Fish morphology suggests that control fins for maneuverability have unique scalar relationships irrespective of their speed type. Maneuvering experiments are carried out with fish that are fast yet maneuverab...
